So I finally got my brand new compressor up and working in my garage, so I got a spray gun and automotive paint and got to it...The tahoe tail lights were basically my test lights, I mixed clear coat with black base coat and sprayed em down, overall I got them super glassy, there are runs but I full expected that as I was just testing and adjusting my new gun..My real go at it was the denali tails...About one cup of clear and maybe an 1/8 cup of black..I went heavy on the reducer and light on the hardener, I learned from my first attempt a while ago, that putting to much hardener = disaster.. the yukon tails are a tad too dark I probably should of lessened the black in them, they are about as dark as I can tolerate them without being unacceptable..Anyways here are some pics :D

Those are pretty dark imo.

I got a compressor and a gun setup recently as well.

Where did you source the paint?

Dark as hell* actually lol thats about as dark as I'd go without calling it unreasonable I'm going to do another pair for someone tomorrow and I'm going to do them a shade lighter but a hair glossier....Also I just went to my local paint store that sells automotive paint and got the Shop-Line PPG paint

Okay Thanks.

I did a set of NBS recently and I went a different route.

I bought VHT and removed it from a can and put it into the spray gun and sprayed it.

It came out really light, but a nice shade.

I need to clear them, that was my test set however.

Less paint and more hands of light coats. 4-5 hands of light coats. Use jet black.

VHT will fade in the sun over time. Wife's old Impala was back to red tails in about a year and a half. Mix black with clear until you get your desired darkness. Then clear, wet sand, Polish a install.

Are you polishing them after you spray them? It was my understanding that is how the true "shine" comes out.
