Tahoe popped a CEL the other day, the folks at Advanced scanned it for me and it came back as P0446, Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit Malfunction. ECM logged the code 3 times.

I have found a video on youtube that says Chevy had this problem with 00-07 trucks and SUV's, especially ones used in dusty/dirty environments. The solenoid unit itself is only $25 or so, but the video recommends installing an updated part that costs about $85, and requires re-routing the intake filter for the purge valve, and putting it up above the transmission where it's not as susceptible to dirt and crap.

Anyone run into this on an NNBS truck?

Reference this video:

The updated GM part number for the kit is 19207763.

I haven't climbed up under the truck yet to see if it's set up the same way as the Sierra in the video, but I'd imagine that it's similar. Going to avoid the dealership like the plague on this one if possible. Days off are coming up so I'd like to handle it then, hopefully someone on here has some experience dealing with this particular code on a NNBS truck.

Thanks in advance.

So nobody has gotten a P0446 CEL on an NNBS truck? I guess I'll have to drop by the shop this week...not really liking the idea of throwing parts at it blindly.

Looks like the above referenced part number is for NBS trucks anyway.

Did you ever get this resolved? I now have the same code showing up. I have also had the P0455 show up too. My dealer just wants to keep replacing stuff. Im replacing the fuel tank pressure sensor per their recommendation this weekend
