I decided to seafoam the 5.3l today. It has 209,*** miles on it and it was a nice afternoon. I used the vacuum line that run from the fuel injector line to the intake. After letting it set, I started it up and let it idle for a bit. Later I left to take my boys to practice and it had a rough idle and the exhaust smelled as if it was running rich. The CEL started flashing as I drove down the rode. When I got to practice I disconnected to battery. As I left the CEL started flashing again but only at idle. It seemed to stop flashing when I was driving. I made sure I made sure I plugged the vacuum line back, and the wires and plugs were placed last year. This morning I went to start it and now the CEL is on so hopefully I can get to autozone today and see if I can get it checked. As anyone else had this problem. Thanks in advance, Derek

You could have killed an o2 sensor or two. Seems to be a little common problem with seafoam.

dont worry your ok. I do induction services all the time and this is common after doing a induction or seafoam. The misfire is due to the seafoam in the intake and needs to be burned off. If you give it a few revs or blast it down the road, it will clear up and run normal again. Best part it smokes like a bastard and its fun to watch people reactions behind you. Doing this can set off a dtc, misfire related. I never seen a induction or seafoam that has killed a 02. The misfire isnt present long enough to destroy a o2. Now something like a Bad coil that misfires all the time would.

Made it to autozone today to have the CEL checked and it was reading a PO300 which is a misfire. Cause could be spark plugs, coil, vacuum leak, injector fault or high or low fuel pressure. And to top it off my battery crapped put on me in the parking lot, Just my luck..
