ANYONE FLAT TOW AN ESCALADE behind a motorhome?
Manual says to disconnect battery when flat towing but doesn’t say why. I have a charge line installed but wondering if I still need to disconnect battery. 2018 Escalade. Thanks for any help.

has to be put in neutral, otherwise you will burn up the transmission (the procedure is in the manual), no idea why the battery would need to be disconnected though

“Failure to disconnect the negative battery cable or to have it contact the terminals can cause damage to the vehicle.”

From the manual. That seems quite clear. I used to tow a 2020 GM truck. ISTR it had to do with active safety systems or electronic power steering or something like that.

You need to be quite careful wiring up charge lines, tow lights or braking units to avoid inadvertently powering the vehicle through a ground loop. On mine I chose to disconnect the positive rather than the negative as instructed because of that.
