Just a quick intro here. My name is Al and I live in Sarasota, Florida. I have had a lot of different project vehicles over the years and I am currently looking at a 1991...Tahoe or Blaser...or whatever it is. I am having a hard time finding anyone who would truly define it for me. It is a titled 1991 Chevy full size two door 4X4 Tahoe. But I also have people telling me they didn't build Tahoes until 1994. So......what is it? It has a Tahoe badge on the tailgate.

Regardless, it has a very good body, has 84,000 original miles on it but the interior is in very poor condition. Both door panels are all cracked and hel on with lag bolts and fender washers, carpet was grey and now looks almost black, the dash is all cracked up, everywhere and none of the electric door locks or window openers work.

The best part is that it is only $1,500 and if I can find all the interior parts for a good price it will make a great vehicle. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if it is verified by vin to be 1991 you have what is know as a full-size blazer it did not take the tahoe name till 1995. but someone might have thrown on the tahoe badge, pit a tailgate on from a 1995 or newer vehicle or the listed info might be incorrect. post the vin with a side view pic as well as the engine compartment if you can for verification please.

Iust spoke to the guy that has it. It is a 92 not a 91. Thanks for all the info! How hard is it to find the interior parts like the dash face and door panels?

the major dash body is going to have to be a used item while items like the door panels can be used or reproductions. is this 1992 really the style you want tho? you can do better for a little bit more money and even get leather interiors. i normally recommend no less then a 1996 for it's drivetrain power, 1997 if you want variable effort steering added or 1998 if you want a more automated 4wd system and the passlock system added. as just the stock options.

The horse power is not something I am worried about as I have the resources to rebuild at an affordable price to get as much HP as I want with some ECM mods. I like the body style and other than the interior being trashed it is a nice rig. I would prefer than manual Xfer case so I can put it in nuetral and flat tow behind a motorhome if I want. I have priced some 94-96 2 door models around here and they are going for between $8K and $15K. Crazy!

yeah 8-15k is a really big ripoff. criminal like. tbi ecm mods wont get you the base 55hp advantage over the stock 96 vortec 350 and you can find some with a manual shifter still after that but are special orders from the factory. also if you get a 98-99 with the auto-trac 4wd you get push button selectable, auto and pressing a combination of two switches give you neutral but the automated system is good for unlimited distance as long as front wheels are in a dolly. the information is not available in the manual for how well a neutralled stick shifter nv241 t-case can do as far as lubrication for t-case goes for all wheels being on the ground. would have to research the tech data to find out obviously the axles take care of themselves.
