Focals off stock H/U?

Will 2 x Focal Polyglass V165 Components and 2 x Polyglass coax's sound ****** with only the power from the aftermarket headunit (Pioneer 50W x 4) and no amplifier? I'm about to wire them in and would rather not have to backtrack to install a real amp afterwards lol. Been hearing a lot about how mid range speakers will sound better than the high end ones if they're underpowered

i'm not sure on specs or anything of the focals, but i would say wire in the amp right away and do it right the first time, it sucks going back and doing everything again, i had to do that on my buddies truck cause he didnt have money for amp and wires at the time and the speakers needed to be replaced, but the amp will make a world of difference with any after market speakers


basically just save a little and do it right the first time

Damn that was what I was afraid of, wish I hadn't soldered up the pioneer already. Does anyone know if its cool to push 300w 4ohm through the stock speaker wiring (75w per wire)

Pioneer HU, Focal speakers, and GM speaker wires. One of these seems out of place. Sorry for the sarcasm. Quality wire is not that expensive. Refer to bcae1 or knukoncetpz for recommended wire specs. It is a pain to run new speaker wires. A job I never want to do again in my own rig.

its not a super bad job to run the new wire, just cut the wire in the doors and tape them off

get a fish tape or a coat hanger and wrap the wire around it and when your door panel is off just wrap the speaker wire around the hanger or tape and tape it on and push it thru the door gromets where other wire is already coming thru, easiest way to do it is to actually take the rubber gromets off with the white clips (obviously keep them in between the door jamb and door) and just compress the grommet so you arent trying to make an s-curve

really not a super difficult job whatsoever, just tedious and annoying, lol

Exactly. Not difficult but no fun pulling all panels off.

I used Monster XLN speaker wire and Monster RCA's to AMPs. My polyglass sound amazing!
