Not sure where this belongs, but I have a 96 2dr Tahoe 4x4. Going to be installing a z71 front bumper with the fog lights on the bumper.

I bought a stock GM fog light switch with the pig tail. I wanted to wire this up to looks as stock as possible.

anyone have a fog light wiring schematic from those 99-00 OBS Z71 Tahoe’s?
Wire colors are
Red
Purple
White
black
Gray

should be wired through a relay. relay trigger should be picked up off the low beam wire from the light switch. as most states are 4 forward facing lights during lowbeam and high beam should be by itself. i dont have a wiring schematic but factory foglights are generally wired that way.

Best bet is to try and locate the TWO stock GM harnesses that plug into the fusebox and headlights. that way the switch itself illuminates when the dash light are on and the switch itself illuminates when the fogs are on.
The under hood harness is fairly easy to locate, Its the under dash one that is usually hacked up/cut off at the switch pigtail. I'm sure someone smarter than me has a figured out hoe to simply power the lights from the switch...
Post it up if you get the info; love to know this myself.

I myself wired up push bar fog lights to an oem switch that didn’t come with my truck like drakon543 said through a relay,I tapped one wire into either rear glass or wiper switch to light up fog light switch with the rest of the dash but I also cut the female end off the wire harness from the donor truck at my local bone yard. Made it easy to figure out what wires went where

Here’s one that may help. I’ve read that the relay for 2000 Z71/Limited was actually under the dash and not at the convenience center. Someone here had a post about it recently.

Awesome thanks for the help and diagrams.
I was on eBay a few days ago and picked up an original set with mounting buckets from a z71 2000 tahoe. They just arrived today and in great shape. I have that part of the harness too, looks like it’s 1 black wire and one purple wire to each light.

I also got my front z71 bumper with the fog light holes from LMCtruck, and dropped it off at the powder coat place on Monday so that should be done tomorrow too.

ive been doing a lot with this truck in the last 6 months. I replaced both front and rear carpet, new seat foams for the front and new leather lower and upper covers for the front too. Just got new 31” tires put on, new black grill, black rear bumper, and black z71 front bumper, as well as new head lights.

I wanted to do a tribute 2000 z71 2 door.
Only thing I can’t seem to find is the original rear tail light slat covers from the 2000 z71

Fog light harnesses( 1-underdash and 1-underhood) ONLY came in Z71 tahoe, Denali or Escalades.
I don't think that foglights were actually a separate option that was offered by GM on Tahe/suburban/pickups.
The relay is part of the underdash harness, typically attached to/near the brake pedal.
Only two electrical connections are to the underdash fuse panel.

Does anyone know if the fog light wiring harnesses came in models that didn’t have the actual fog lights in
Mine (98 two door) did not have the pins for the relay in the convenience center or the connector to the dash switch. While there are two spare connectors in there, they aren’t for the fog lights.

still interested in the whole fog light setup if you still have it. I have the green tape wrapped plug for the dash switch in the dash harness, it's a barn door Suburban and it's wired for that and 4x4 buttons even though it didn't come equipped with either one. I guess it was a generic dash harness, because my 99 and 97 are both the same. Not sure how much I have to post before I can do *** (or why this forum even exists separately from GMT400 forum.)
