Long story short - my newly purchased '10 Tahoe had its original power folding mirrors replaced by the previous owner with the manual fold style unbeknownst to me. With that, I replaced the manual folds with a power fold set, but the door switch only folds the driver's side regardless of the position of the switch. It's not the switch because I've replaced it with the same issue on the new one. Any ideas are appreciated.

then it's the folding motor in the mirror itself. Were they purchased new or used?

They're used, but why would only the driver's side fold no matter which side is selected on the switch? I could see if the motor in the passenger side was bad and the mirrors did nothing when selected on that side.

Wait, the folding button when pushed folds BOTH mirrors at the same time not just one So if one is not folding then it's probably the motor that's bad.

Does the mirror not move at all? Can you hear the motor running when the button is pushed?

...and I would assume there's no way to do that without the dealer?

Correct. Its either a software issue or a bad motor (or stripped motor gears) in that mirror.
Did you have a helper press the fold button while you had your ear up against the mirror to listen and see if it at least sounds like its "trying" to move?
