I'm curious about options for a 2014 yukon denali 6.2

What are the ins and outs of a supercharger or centrifugal style...

I would like something to help with towing and hopefully the fuel mileage while towing. I tow a 24 ft enclosed car trailer with my race car inside. I'm curious about fitment, reliability and power increase... do I need to flash the computer, new fuel pump or injectors, oh and camshaft?

I can't seem to find much on the 2014 6.2l deal...

Thanks for any help.

With some supercharger kits you lose the FlexFuel ability unless you put in bigger injectors and fuel pump. It will certainly need tuning and most come with it in one form or another.

Your Denali shouldn't have issues towing that rig as is unless you are in hill country and have the short wheelbase model.

Most kits are easy bolt-on affairs that can be done in an afternoon. No cams or headers necessary.

They do make a kit for the 6.2L which is a twin screw, I'd looked at it. I believe it's around the 6 or 7K mark but I think it comes with a tuner , injectors and a fuel pump. If you are into race cars then you know if you do it , it will need to be dyno tuned.

I will jump on Google and if I find it again, I'll post the link for you

This is the one I was looking at , however the year you have isn't the same but I think they make kits for other years.

boostdistrict.com still sells LSA kits for 07-14s, smaller blower than the whipple/maggys. but plenty for a stock engine with room to grow. options (lid, injectors and heat exchanger or you can find cheaper used) will put you over 5k but leaves room for fuel system upgrades.

I had the edelbrock E Force on my 2014 Yuk Denali..
You will lose the flex fuel ability unless you change pump and injectors (no big deal to me)
You WILL have to upgrade your transmission and torque converter.. In stock form, neither will
hold even if you never tow ... I tow a large 3 slide camper....
My gas mileage dropped alot while towing. The roots style SC will give you instant
power and boost... The camshaft is not an issue (other than it's a DOD set up which
you will HAVE to disable at the minimum)
Headers and High Flow exhaust will help = Combustion engine is just an air pump
since you are forcing more air in.
A Very Well Qualified Tuner is a must... I didn't have one, just spent a shit ton of $$ on
very mediocre ones.
You will HAVE to upgrade your cooling system and trans cooling system (since you tow)

All in you I don't think you can do it "right" and have it be reliable and last for
under 12K...
You might be better off with a cam and exhaust/header job with a freshen up on
your heads.
It all depends on your $$$$$ situation

Yes like you said about under 12K , I personally with a blower would change the cam and lifters automatically. If you could do it yourself self would definitely cut on pricing for sure.

I tow a 7500 lb camper frequently with my 2012 6.2. I went with a Cam Motion Stage 2 truck cam and Black Bear tune, but found that I also needed to make mods to the cooling system to keep it running cool in the summer heat in the south and out west. Cold Case 2-row radiator and a Derale 13960 fan-forced transmission cooler relocated to below the front bumper to keep it from dumping heat in front of the radiator made all of the difference. In my opinion, it's the ideal setup for the 6.2 for towing. Plenty of power, stays nice and cool.

Lots of guys with Denali's put a Tru-Cool 40K in front of their radiator and then can't keep their engine temps cool when towing. I found the same thing. Hence the relocated transmission cooler. Doesn't seem to be a problem for the 5.3 rigs but the 6.2 makes just enough additional heat for it to be a problem.
