Now I have a couple of pieces and a totally mangled door handle!! I pulled once and heard that unmistakable crack, so that fascination of how far you can push it, turned into another crack, then it exploded and just hung there still attached to the rod and bolts holding it to the door.

Found my OEM handles buried in a box of other parts. Time to get to work and fit the parts to at least get the door secure when it is locked, then worry about color matching the replacement. Going ghetto with some mismatched parts. Ugghhhh.....

Today no luck on the OEM handle I pulled out last night. It has a crack on the front by one of the bolts. Grrr... I did not inspect the handle close enough before I started working on it of course.

I had to pull the Dremel out to cut the end of the rivet off, sit it in the vice and pound it out to separate the handle and assembly. As I was washing the assembly to prep for adhesion promoter I found the crack. Grrrrr...

So I reassembled the black OEM handle and installed that on the door so it would be secure for now until I can source out a new handle and color match it.

I did search eBay for CM handles, but no dice. Guess it is off to the junk yard to see what is there first, and if nothing there then order one online. At least I have a handle even though it is black.

Gawd! That makes me wanna cry, I can only imagine how you feel!

Frustrated but hey it’s only a CM handle and not something mechanical or electrical. Minor just annoying.

There’s a small one next to LKQ that I like. There were some donors there the other week, so will circle back this week.

Good excuse to grab the tool box and wander around aimlessly....

Yard work all weekend other than replacing the busted door handle.

Still a good day for a pic. Sitting near 33” (+\- 1/8”) on all 4 corners.
That overspray clay/polish detail really turned out nice.
