I've been in the market for a tahoe for about a month, I passed up a 2006 Tahoe Z71 with 96K miles a few weeks ago because of a salvage title. Now this Tahoe has come up for sale near me http://awmotorsllc.com/qw/detail/141-chevrolet-tahoe-z71

I really like it but the mileage scares me a little. The price is $7,900. What should I look for when I test drive it? It is priced about 2k under NADA retail for my neck of the woods. Thanks in advance for the help!

look into the basics like brake pad wear, engine oil life, trans fluid life, basiccally all fluids, see how it idles incase you need to change the spark plugs and see how it shifts. Too harsh and you might want to have it looked at. Also have the brake lines inspected as well as the fuel pump for they typically crap out at 125k (well at least mine did). Just some tune up work might be needed but other than that these trucks are amazing. Milage isn't anything but a number. I know someone in my area with a tahoe that has 315,*** miles on it and still going strong

Make sure all the gauges, interior lights, HVAC, windows, powers mirrors, and locks work properly. Also listen for clunks and other noises while driving.

Compression test , and or decompression test. Transmission , braking system, HAVOC systems, front suspension, steering,

Since it's over ten you can't get a loan on it. Take cash and offer like $5600 cash for it and see if they take it!

Say what? I've never had a problem getting a loan for any vehicle, regardless of the age. Did this just start?

Most financial instructions won't do a loan for a vehicle over ten years any more unless the value is over say $15 K. At least that I have seen, hey if you can go for it.

Wow I'll have to remember that next time I go look for an older vehicle. Especially since my old loan agent isn't doing it anymore.
