Well, I recently sold my HD Softail Custom after losing a couple of friends to stupid drivers not watching out for motorcycles and also sold my 63' SS Impala to some Japanese investors so I have some extra cash and I'm bored.

Today I picked up an 84 El Camino that is in need of a lot of TLC for $400 and I have a vision of it all blacked out with a 383 stroker or a big block, custom paint, suspension, and maybe a SS Monte Carlo front clip. I will have pics tomorrow. I am gonna jump on this head first. I have given myself 6 months to complete it starting with taking the entire month of July off work since I have vacation time I will lose if not taken. This should give me something to keep me busy..

On topic: Sounds like a fun project. I vote for a a big block and manual tranny. :D

Off topic: Where do you work?? I work for Mohave County (govt) and we have a rule that says we can't carry more then 900 hours of PTO. I ended up loosing like 300 hours this year ... I basically have to take a day off each pay period to STAY at the 900 limit I'm at now. :( Stupid rules.

I work in the private sector. Been stacking up hours working a ton of OT and I have 148 hrs vacation I have to use up before August or I can kiss 'em goodbye.. I used to work for SRP (electric utility) and they had the same stupid rules you're talking about..

I realize it's not a looker now but I have a vision.

I found this pic that is gonna give me an idea on the front clip.

It's getting stipped as of this weekend.

I was thinking on a GN clip but I already own one so a SS MonteCarlo clip will do. Definitely going with a big block or a stroker and a manual tranny. I have a sweet set of Budnik wheels that I wanna use on this as well.

nice, I say SBC....you'd get NO traction with any real power in a El Camino, but they are nice man!
