I have a 2-3/4 drop and im bottoming out. I really want to do the free travel mod. To remove brackets the springs need to come off right? What tools should be used to cut off the brackets? Im thinking a sawzall? Anyone in oklahoma now how to do this or of a shop? I just haven't had time since I work out of town lol. when this is done how does it ride? Any feedback would help!

Richi, you just need a sawzall and a grinder to make it pretty. I cut mine off in all of about 10 mins with a sawzall. You don't "have" to remove the springs but it's so easy, there's no reason not to. The shocks have to come off too. With it removed it made a great improvement in the ride especially with lowering springs giving more than a 3" drop.

Or for a quick fix, just remove bumpstops completely, then when you have time, remove the metal bracket. I ran like that for a few months with a 3"-4" rear drop, no issues or bottoming out. can cut a piece of bumpstop off and glue or tap onto axle if worried.
