i was working on a 07 tahoe today with the factory nav and the panasonic overhead video. i found a way to make an output for additional screens! there may be a thread here already for the same thing but heres mine. my objective was to add a video output and run it to a 32" lcd tv in the rear for tailgating.
1. take down the overhead video screen by loosening the four 7mm bolts then pulling down to release the clips.
2. unplug the harness to the screen and set the screen aside
3. take the harness from the ceiling and locate the two wires that are twisted together on the far side.
4. green wire = video (+) white w/ black stripe = video (-)
5. if you have a female ended rca cable laying around like i did, just cut the end off leaving about 6" of wire.
6. strip back the casing to expose the ground and power of the rca
7. take the ground of the rca to the white/black stripe wire of the truck, and the positive video wire to the green wire of the truck.
you should end up with something like this. all there is to do now is connect a video cable to the end you just put on and run it to your additional screen. if your planing on running more than one extra screen like a pair of headrests, i would recommend a video amplifier. hope this was helpful. for an experienced installer this shouldnt take more than 30 minutes from start to finish. super easy!
NOTE: THIS INSTALL WAS DONE ON A 2007 TAHOE WITH FACTORY NAV/PANASONIC OVERHEAD VIDEO SYSTEM. I AM ONLY ASSUMING THE WIRE COLORS ARE THE SAME FOR SIMILAR MODEL SUVS.
