Hi all, first post,

Did a search and didn't find the answer to my question: how easy to remove the rear driver freeze plug? Is it threaded? 2000 Yukon 5.3L

Thanks much!

Yes, it is threaded.

If it has never been removed, it is on there REAL good, and using an impact gun will take mere seconds to get it off. Also, space is tight, so if using an impact, you may have to use a 1 foot extension to get at the plug. If doing this, remove the 4 bolts that hold the front of the driveshaft in, and simply move the front of the driveshaft over so its out of your way.

You will also need a 17mm hex socket.

No Prob!

BTW, I forgot to mention that I was describing the front driveshaft of a 4x4, so it may be even easier for AWD trucks (or maybe not). But regardless, should be pretty siimple with an impact gun.

Good Luck!
