I am not a happy camper with my local GMC Dealer right now (Schumacher GMC on Northlake Blvd in North Palm Beach).
I went in for the first routine service and also asked them to look at the front camera because the "service front camera" error message has been coming on intermittently for months. I believe this issue is resulting from the dealer I bought the vehicle from replacing a defective front camera at delivery with one from another vehicle. They shouldn't have done this because it is a vin specific part. I told all of this to the service manager; but, rather than listen and try to help he just ignored me.
When I got the truck back from service they had not fixed the camera; they simply reset the computer and hoped that would resolve the issue... I kinda expected that because I have little faith in dealers. Every other day I get the "service front camera" light and there is nothing the dealership will attempt to do about it unless I happen to be there when it is on.
However, a week later I noticed many oil spots in my driveway while putting up my christmas lights.... I have 2 newer cars so I was perplexed and initially blamed it on a relatives car... I quickly realized it was one of my cars and crawled around underneath the Yukon and my other car looking for the source. I noticed it was leaking from around the oil plug in the Yukon.
I took the truck back to the dealer today and told them about both issues. When I returned to pick up the truck they basically told me they checked it ant it wasn't leaking... From the service document "Poor clean up after oil service. Complete Clean Up and Oil Leak Inspection shows none found"
And on the front camera "Vehicle Performing to Facory Design"
Get home tonight and it is still leaking oil! UNBELIEVEABLE! They did not even remove and reinstall the drain plug and filter. They basically just assumed I was a liar or a moron.
This dealership is so incompetent it makes me angry. I know there is someone from GM on here. You need to do something to improve your dealer service network. Even if GM get's its quality under control a dealer network that is incompetent and doesn't care will result in bad customer loyalty.
Somone from GM help me. I shouldnt have to go to the dealership 3 times to get a brand new $60,000 truck to stop leaking oil!
End of Rant. Pictured of my driveway to follow...
