Front Differential Issues/Humming Whining Noise

There is a hum/whine when I accelerate and while cruising. No noise when turning or steering. Took it to a drive train place and they said based on the noise it sounds like the front diff gears or bearings need replacement. Spoke to another mechanic and he was asking if it might be the rear differential as he said that tends to be a weak link in early 2000s gms. Has anyone else had this issue?

I have this issue. I'm gonna do the front wheel bearings within the next few weeks when my nnbs front brake kit arrives. I hope that does it.

is it in 2wd or 4wd when this whine happens and are you on the street or loose gravel
