Front driver side rattle, HELP

Please help! Around the driver side top door hidge I'm hearing a high pitch tingy rattle. It's difficult to reproduce or determine exact area. Sounds like small metal balls in a can, hollow sounding. It seems to be from the area of the door hindge but could be between fnt quarter panel and firewall. It's been to shop 3 time for a total of 10 days. They found a broken window regulator??? whatever that is and they fixed it. They replaced the whole door panel with all associated plastic worn attatchment plugs and double check all wire and parts inside panel. I have checked all wires and cable I can get access to from under hood and under carriage. They did turn rotors, replace brakes, replace belts all before I noticed the rattle. The Tahoe is in perfect shape with 61,000 miles. Ideas??

Check to see if the two metal tubes running up near the firewall in that area are clanging together at some point.

Thanks Kirk, have you dealt with this problem before? I think I know the tube your talking about. The one you can see when you take off the fuse cover. I only saw one but I'll look again. It was about 2 inches in diameter running horizontal or cross ways across the dash.

Red -- These are coolant lines (or something like that). Thin diameter... Maybe 1/4" (?) tubing. Should be two running in parallel. They have retainers that hold and separate them. Maybe they're touching somewhere, though...

Are you sure it is coming from that area? It almost sounds like you are describing engine ping.

yes, I hear it by left knee, I'm taking it to shop tomorrow, not sure what's going on. Sounds like it's in the door panel but they have basically rebuilt the panel.
