Front License plate

This is probably a stupid question, but what is the correct procedure to attach a front license plate to a Yukon? I see four indentions on the front facia and I found a pack of screws and some plastic retainers. I'm guessing you drill out those front indentions and put the plastic retainers in and then screw the plate on? I have been unable to find any specific instructions on how to do it. Before I start drilling into my new Yukon I'd like to know the proper procedure.
