Hello all,

I'm fairly new around here, but I've done some searching for this topic and haven't found anything. I bought a 2007 Z71 Tahoe about 2 months ago. About a month and a half after, I tried using the front windshield washing fluid, only to have nothing come out of the spray nozzles on the wiper blades. I tried some basic troubleshooting checking the fuses and relay box, but didn't find anything. The rear wiper and fluid sprayer works just fine. When I try to use the front one, I can hear the relay clicking in the electrical box under the hood, but the pump doesn't cycle like it does for the rear system.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and know what it could be. I've been talking with the dealer I got it from to get it fixed for free since it didn't work from the start, but if it takes a new pump, he doesn't think they can cover it. Does the front and rear systems operate on two completely separate loops, or is there just an electrical connection issue between the front system relay and a single pump.

If it takes a new pump, I'd think my best bet would be to find one from a totaled vehicle in a junkyard that doesn't have front end damage rather than pay for new OEM.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks

Yeah itsmost likely the pump if the realy is clicking, what you could do is try www.gmpartsdirect.com for the part un ther the 2007 catalog, it is cheaper there too.
Also the lines for it could be pinched somewhere but I doubt that?

Yea, the dealership did mention a thought that something could be plugging the lines (debris, etc.), said it is fairly common. But for that, i would have thought that the pump would at least be trying to cycle, just not pumping fluid. unless the truck is smart enough to know, which in case they probably would have had a code for that in the info center....idk.

Thanks for the reference to the GMPartsDirect.com, that will definately give me some ammo to get them to do it for free, and if not it will be cheap to buy and just take some of my time to do it.

If you think it's a clogged line, unplug it at the pump and see if it squirts fluid.
