My fuel gage isn't working in my 2005 Tahoe. How can I fix it

My fuel gage isn't working in my 2005 Tahoe. How can I fix it?

Well it’s either a fuse, the sender unit which is on the tank, or the gauge itself. If it’s not a fuse then you need a bidirectional scanner like a Tech2. You could also swap in a cluster with a known good gauge from any 2003-2006 Silverado Tahoe Yukon Suburban or Escalade. The electronics changed in 2002 so the earlier years aren’t compatible. That would eliminate or identify the gauge as the issue. The stepper motors on the clusters have a high failure rate for these years.

like Mark said unless you have access to a tech2 or comparable scanner, i.e. snap-on, etc that can do a "cluster sweep test" then your best option may be to have it tested and go from there.
If you want to try and manually check the ohm's on the cluster harness then you need to dig and find out what the ohm's should be on the fuel sender wire on the cluster harness which may be a pain and time consuming, unless @swathdiver happens to have that info handy?
