Let me start by saying I have replaced the fuel pump / sender unit last December or so. Starting last week the fuel gauge will drop to E - the low fuel light will come on and ding - and then it will come back to normal 10-30 seconds later.

Could it be the gauge it self? Or think the sending unit took a crap again? It was a new part i replaced it with... Not OEM.... but Not sure that would matter - it worked for months..

I just started getting this at random times as well the last time happened after a fill, not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. since the low fuel light is coming on, that may be a clue to the cause, or at least help eliminate possibilities.

its the floater.
the new style pumps after they changed the electronics imo suck.
i never had an issue with the original pump/floater but had a brand new oem pump from napa put in back in june. about 3 weeks ago i put $50 worth of gas in the truck and it said low fuel LMAO
it would often go from full to nothing at all then go to a quarter etc.. now it just sits at E. ive been monitoring my gas by looking at the odometer b/c ive been avg 15mpg.

the floater I THINK can be replaced on its own with out having to replace the hole pump. ima replace the hole pump b/c i have a year warranty from napa
