My fuel gaugewill not read properly. I have a 99 4x4 4dr so it has the 30 gallon tank. When i do the math at lets say half a tank, my math tells me it should be up at the 3/4 mark. What could cause this? I have replaced the fuel pump about a year ago.

Haha. Thats a chevy fuel gauge for ya... Ill fill mine up then i can put about 2 more gallons in the tank. It takes 180-200 miles for it to get to the 3/4 mark. Then its about 100 miles to half tank, then i usually get 50-75 out of the half to 1/4 mark. If i remember correctly i was reading a GM website that a GM mechanic was posting on. He said, "You can drop the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump and the float system at the same time and will fix your problem." I personally think its the float system that is messed up.

unknown at this time.
some of it has to do with it being in a long length 30 gallon tank and the angle of incidence of that specific vehicle's suspension. but improvements in the fuel pump module have been made to.
