With a full tank of gas I get a leak where the pressure side fuel line attaches to the fuel pump. Right there at the connection from inside the connection. Once the fuel level is down a bit, say 3/4 tank or less, it no longer leaks. I have not taken the tank down and disconnected the fuel line from the pump but a local shop told me either the plastic, fuel pump side of the connection is cracked or the o-rings inside the quick connect of the fuel line are bad which would mean replacing the whole fuel line between the tank and fuel filter or replacing the entire fuel pump assembly.

Is this a common problem with the Tahoes? Anyone else had this problem and if so what fixed it? 151,500 miles on the truck.

Never heard of this being a common problem.

More importantly, I'd like to know how you could determine the leak is at the fuel line connection without dropping the tank.

Very easily actually. Looking through the left, rear wheel well between the bottom of the truck floor and the top of the tank the two fuel lines (return and pressure) are right there. Can see the fuel pump, too. It's just too small of a space in there to work on things which is why the tank will need to be dropped. Shining my flashlight in there I could see the connections and see it dripping from the pressure side connection.
