I'm just so excited that I had no problems I just had to post it up. Next time I am taking my video camera with me to film it all.
Lmao. Oh man, after owning 4 of the full size truck makes over the years all 2wd models I have always had problems with a slick boat ramp with 3 of them. The 2002 ram was junk since it had in the build code that it was posi but really wasn't, (open carrier when the cover was pulled) it was always a one wheel wonder on the ramp at low tide this time of year. The Ford I had was a 98 F-150 with 4.6 and then I had a work truck 98 F-250 5.4 both where ok but the LSD wasn't that great. They would slip one wheel more then the other but made it up ok most of the time, other times I needed 3 to 4 guys on the back to add weight. The Toyota tundra was a 2007 4.7 with what they like to call an auto LSD. what a joke, that thing would start to spin and then use the rear brakes to try and arrest the spin of the one wheel and then the other tire would slip and then it would cut power until it just stopped on the ramp at a high idle. lol. So there we where yesterday evening....a very spring low tide and green slime all over the lower ramp that is usually never out of the water. I back the 98 2wd 4 door hoe down there with the rear tires in the green crap, load the boat on the trailer and get ready for what I thought was going to be a fight to get up the ramp. Well this truck has 164k on it and it just went up the ramp with out spinning the tires at all and pulled my 21 footer full of fuel right up the ramp no problems. After I get to the top I stopped to check the boats alignment I hear that old familiar sound of tires straining to get traction. I look over and there on the ramp are a newer ford F-150, A F-250 diesel, and a tundra all spinning away. Mean while I thought it was odd that all the on lookers were staring at me when I got to the top and got out. I was happy it did what I knew it should do but I turned to my wife and said that Tahoe just does it. It don’t matter what it is that we are doing it just does it. One of the people said something like oh he’s 4wd with lockers and I said No, I am 2wd with a stock LSD with 164k on it. Someone else said these other 3 guys had been there for 20+ min trying to get up the ramps. Lol All the money I spent for the Dodge (14500) all the money I spent on the 07 tundra (255000), I paid 4900 for this Tahoe with 150k on it lol. And I love it more then all the others. This thing is stock as stock gets besides I added a helwig sway bar and helwig helper springs to keep it level when towing. I thought the helper spring might be an issue but it wasn’t. Awesome!!!
