So I currently have a 2001 Tahoe lt with a 5.3 that was my old daily driver sitting and collecting dust in my driveway. Ac and heat don't work, it has no radio, the interior and exterior are garbage, and it's worth about a few hundred bucks as it sits right now but the engine is rock solid. I'm currently attending the school of automotive machinists in Houston and though I might have some fun using the schools resources and my own to start a project to distract my self from my main project car.
So here's the thought- I have no real goals for this project other than getting as much power on stock internals for as cheap as possible and to have fun working on it.
*twin hx35s with internal waste gates on flipped stock manifolds
*80lbs injectors
*rep tial bov
*cx racing intercooler
*arp head studs
*ls9 head gasket
*fuel pump of some sort
*turbo oil feeds and returns
*free tune using hptuners through school
I figure I'll need to do something with the Trans but not sure which route to take there yet. Im also interested in trying to convert ebay tubular headers in to twin scroll turbo manifolds that should work really well with the divided housing that comes on hx35s.
Power adders aside I'm also planning on completing gutting the tahoe for as much weight reduction as possible

*remove heater
*fully stripped interior
*any other cheap weight reduction I can find.
