From Wikipedia, my trucks engine is considered the "Garden Variety".
But what does this mean?

"The LM7 (VIN code 8th digit "T") Vortec 5300 was introduced in 1999, and can be considered the "garden variety" version of the Generation III 5.3 liter V8's. The LM7 has an iron block and aluminum heads."

Oh... I see.
So it is considered a good engine, since other engines were made from this engines concept?

(Sorry, but I am a foreigner...)

Garden Variety means ordinary or commonplace, so the most common 5.3L you might find in a truck or SUV would be the LM7.
