gas gauge not working on a my tahoe !

i just bought this hoe last night and the gas gauge shows empty when i have gas ... i changed out the cluster with another one ... same deal !!! i also notice that the oil pressure is stuck on the high side too.....ANY THOUGHTS ??...... THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP !!!!
