Gas Smell Coming Through AC

I have a gas smell coming through my vents when my ac is on. I did a search on the forums and was unable to find any old posts on this topic.

My yukon is an 05 with 220k miles.

I've checked all of the injectors and lines under the hood and have not been able to locate a leak.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I will do anything to avoid taking it to the stealership.

Do you have rear ac? If so does it smell? How about when you use just the fan or just heat? Turn the auto climate off and try it?

Old thread I know, but since it's here:

For a fuel smell in the hvac system
Injector seals
Fuel rail
Fuel rail pressure port
Fuel lines
Fuel regulator
Fuel return
Evap issues
Fill neck issues
Fuel pump gasket
Exhaust leak



Being that it's a/c related, I'd verify the system isn't leaking. R134a systems smell pretty rank when they leak. Not like gas, more like an old wet hay type smell. But unpleasant nonetheless. Also run a standard check for evaporator drains and moisture buildup that could fork mildew.

And in general: check the cabin filter if you have one equipped
