As some of you know I am new to Tahoes/Yukons and these forums. I got my Tahoe last week and so far I am loving it. But it does need a few kinks worked out. My question is if I was to change the gauge cluster in my Tahoe with another one what mileage will show? The one from my Tahoe or the one from the donor Tahoe? The reason I am asking is because when my SES light is not working at all. Even when I turn the key ignition on it will not light up. I searched the forum and found a how too on how to remove the cluster. I removed it today to check the bulb for the SES and I couldn't tell if it was blown or not. I do know where a Tahoe is thats being parted out but it has over 200,000 miles on it! I will get the gauge cluster off it if my miles will show up when I install it in my Tahoe. Or can someone offer some advice on how to repair the bulb?
Thanks

Remove the bulb and replace it with another? auto zone should carry the bulb I wouldn't swap a entire cluster just for one bulb

Thats what I was thinking I could do. But the SES bulb appeared to be solderd onto the circuit board. I noticed a few of the other bulbs was able to be changed without having to solder them. But not the SES light. I will take a nother look at it tomorrow to make sure.

It'll show the mileage of the donor truck unless you pay to have the dealer reset it, I believe. Look Scottyboy up on here. He does LED bulb replacements. He takes the old ones off and solders new ones on. Makes your cluster pretty and he does it for a pretty good price with quick turn-around. Only problem is you have to drive around without any instruments while it's getting done....lol.

Scott is correct. And I would highly recommend Scottyboy to change your bulbs to leds. Or do them yourself if your truck is 2000-2002. 2003 and up will require disassembling the cluster to get to the bulbs.

I searching for cluster bulb replacements. I have the instrument panel stripped and sitting in my basement. I replaced all the stepper motors and have blown bulbs. I can't find anywhere what kind of replacement bulbs will work. Will Scottyboy tell me where to get the bulbs? How do I get in touch with Scottyboy? I ordered 194's, and they are far too large. I have read about swapping to LED's, but I just want to swap out the burned out bulbs without going the LED route. Can anyone tell me where to get replacement bulbs that aren't LED?

so I am new here and think I might have an answer to my own question. I am going to order these from Tanin Auto Electronix. The picture looks right, and I want to move on this project, so I am going to order them and find out if they work.

GM OEM style, 14v, 100mA bulbs
