So I am waiting for my check to clear so I can order my wheels. They will be Slides but in chrome. 26x10 on 295/30/26 28offset if that helps. I was really excited, but now I'm having second thoughts.

I was put off by having to trim the fenders, are there any wires back there that can be cut?
If not I'll just suck it up and knock out the back sometime this weekend with an x-acto knife. Then worry about the front when the wheels get here.

Next I was eventually going to do a 2/3 then as I was researching about Tony's kit with struts, shocks, and springs since I have about 55k miles. I found the thread about how it can mess up the tires because they rub on metal.

Is this still a problem as I don't really want to have a shop take a grinder to my Tahoe to get the drop done?
For those that don't know what I'm talking about. http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21740

Not trying to throw salt just doing my research.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I was a little confused as I have suspension, and exterior questions.
Thanks for the help and happy holidays.

slides = sexiest rim alive..

I am still having the same issues on deciding between 24's or 26's as well. So many mixed reviews saying do it and others saying do not. My issues is I am adding around 2k lbs in audio in the back of a 07, just from what I have read I am leaning towards the 24's due to reliability. To much money to make the wrong decision, been researching for maybe a month now.

just add helper bags and you shouldnt have a problem. there are a few members that have them and all i have ever heard is good things. For an extra $100, that makes sense to me. And DAMN!, 2k lbs of audio?! What the hell are you building it out of, bricks? There better be like 5-18" subs and 10 amps the size of texas back there to make up 2k lbs.

26s will not make a difference from 24s in how your Tahoe rides, or brakes. With that much stereo, you need to upgrade the front brakes to a high piston/large caliper setup anyways. Once you do that, the decision of 24s/26s is purely up to your taste. Performance wise, they are in the same boat.

I think he is also doing quad alts and if I remember back when he first got the Tahoe Twisted said it would be a wall. I'm sure Andrew has a build log going, and I have been out of the car audio loop for awhile so I'm not sure.

chiming in late but definitely a good decision to do the 26s, if you would have went 24s you would regret it and want bigger....as Modded said its all about driving style, I too drive like a grandma #1 to help save some gas but #2 mainly to avoid crappy roads, potholes, etc to help keep my 26s round, plus its an SUV not a sports car, no reason to drive fast. Adjusting to the brakes is no bid deal and replacing pads more often is no sweat compared to big $$$ brake kits. You will love the setup, looking forward to the pics....here is mine 2/3.5 on 26x10 305/30/26

that appears to be a staggered setup, maybe a 22 / 28 combo, not sure it compares to our square 24 to square 26 debate :popcorn:
