Same here. Mobil 1 5w30 and AC Delco filter. Just did the oil on my 07 with it, and I've been running the same thing in our 02 suburban for years. The burb has over 250k on it without any major issues. Winning combo in my book, and the stuff is plentiful and cheap at any local wally world.

Once I go through a couple of 5000 mile change intervals to work out the crud from the fossil oil, I intend to run Mobil One Extended Performance, change the filter only at 5000 miles, change oil and filter at 10000, and have the oil tested. I'm using Mobil One filters, but am open to suggestions. Anything but a Fram.

AC Delco or Napa/Wix is all I'd ever use. You're right, frams are worthless. The K&N oil filters are nice but don't perform over ACD/Wix enough to warrant the price IMO.

Mobile one is the best filter. There was a guy On the corvette forums who studied all of them. Mobile one came on top. I'll see if I can find the thread.

Run RP or Mobil 1. I just did mine on my "new to me" 07 Denali XL. Bought at dealer and checked, looks like they changed everything. Oil was clean, air filter clean, etc.

So I waited a bit, 3k, to change oil, but not too long, I'm like syn oil in my vehicles.

Glad I did change it though. While underneath, I noticed a lot of oil film on pan. Before I changed, I cleaned it off and decided I would just keep an eye on it, looking for a leak. Well, when I went to remove filter, it spun off without any torque. Prob wasn't seated well, explaining oil film.

Can't trust anyone, but yourself to do a quality job.
