Hi guys,

Been playing in my electrical systems since the warmer weather has hit the Toronto area (believe it or not it doesn't always snow in Canada) and I was putting a few fuses in that were missing (STUD #1, A.I.R and for some bizzar reason IGN 3 which controls heated seats and the rear HVAC blower....) and I want to know what the A.I.R system is? Google seems to ignore the separate letters and keeps giving me intake, A/C, and replacement filter related results.

Anyone help?

What I've found is it stands for Air Injection Reaction and it has to do with smog control, mainly for California vehicles. Here's a quote: "Up to 02 you should have EGR, I believe that's when they phased it out. Some 02's have it some don't I believe...my 02 PCM is for a non-EGR equipped truck. Some earlier models also had air injection, which included an electric air pump which pumped air into the exhaust to help oxygentate the cat converters more quickly. The non-AIR equipped trucks will still have the slot for the fuse in the fuse box. My truck was originally equipped with EGR and no AIR. It's my understanding that very few of the trucks came with AIR actually."
