So this weekend a buddy of mine and me are gonna tackle a break down of my 350. It's time to do the valve seals cause i'm tired of cleaning plugs, and he said he'd help me through it seeing as how he's done tons of them and this is my first. He told me it would be easier pulling the heads to do the seals, and he wants to lap the valves anyway. I'm going to replace both head gaskets and i figured i might as well do the lower intakes as well. To top it off i'm throwing in the new injector assembly that i've been ranting about for weeks, along with new plenum gaskets. I was wondering, am i going to need an oil change or add any coolant after i am done with this project? Also, should i replace head/lower intake bolts during this process? Just wanna make sure i have everything done right before i put her back on the road. Thanks in advance!

You're pulling the heads off and you're worried about an oil change and coolant?

I would replace the intake bolts for sure, and head bolts depending on condition (don't tjink they are TTY). Definitely flush your coolant system and do an oil change. IMO

Hear me then, hear me now, that way you wont hear me later. replace the head bolt sets and intake bolt set with felpro sets. and tap all the thread holes as well.

Those Votec head bolts are sure as shit TTY bolts and need to be swapped. You can run the old school head bolts or studs. Getting the heads on over studs with the engine in the truck is not going to be fun or easy though ...
