Any problems bolting to the yukon that I should know about?
Any weak or trouble spots in the truck that I should know about?

A company in Barrie was scrapping the plow, they got a new blizzard, so I volunteered to bring my trailer and rescue it (and a 250 gallon fuel tank! because it's shame to see that scrapped too.) I left yesterday, came back today, and I can't wait to bolt it up. It came off a 98 chev full size 2500, I think that it should bolt up to my frame.

My driveway is a semi circle from the road, two entrances, about 75 feet in length. I don't think (hope) that will stress out the truck to badly???

I was already warned not to drive around with the blade to high, it blocks the rad and the truck will overheat...

Sure as hell beats a snow blower! or a shovel!!!

Nice FREE find! haha. It should bolt up just fine from a 2500 frame. The only thing I would worry about is the tranny and it's condition. Plowing is hell on the tranny's with all the shifting from drive and reverse. Well and the tires I guess. I would probably throw on some aggressive all terrains such as the BFG's. Does everything on the plow work? Like the pump, hydraulics, and joy stick controls? Yes, plowing is MUCH easier than snow blowing, I hate it when it blows right into your face. haha Not to mention plowing is fun as hell!

HEHEHE, that's why I wear a scarf when I use the snow blower!!!!! Stops the goddammned snow blowing back into my neck!!!!! I hate that too!!! Tried the CDNTIRE bolt-on snowblower cab, but it doesn't work worth a pinch of **** s*$t either. Scarfs work best!!!

Yup, the electrics, pump and cylinders work ok, but the pump has a small leak when you use it. Not enough to worry about though, once it's filled up, it's good for the season he said...

Good point about he tires though. I just took off my summer Firestone Destination AT's and put on my winter TigerPaws. I used to run agressive treads all winter in my younger days(it looks cool!), but I've learnt since that I get better traction with the softer winter tires (bigger contact patch with the ground than lugs.. re black ice!!!). So which ones do I want for plowing???

Last summer I replaced the motor (which was at 180,000kms), I can image that the tranny is no hell either. I was told to bring the truck to a complete stop before shifting from forward to reverse. It takes longer to plow, but it helps the tranny/less stress???

IDK what kind it is.. It says it was built in London???

I'm hoping that plowing is fun! It's my first plow!!!! Normally I like global warming and it's warmer temps, but with buying a sled and a plow, I can't wait for snow!!!!!

This year, I'm really looking forward to the snow!

I bought a new to me sled, a kiddy sled for the boys, and the trail plan permits!
And now a plow!

Bring on the white stuf!!!

you know, I've been hearing that alot! It must be true!

Anyways, I got it bolted upto the '76. Fixed the tire chains, blower motor, wipers, and replaced the mech fuel pump with an electric. AND it snowed today!!! I'm all set!

I had a Boss Plow on my 94' Tahoe, but last winter my transmission went out so I got rid of the plow and the truck. I am consider getting a more light weight plow for my replacement vehicle 02' Tahoe, and I am considering the SnowSport brand. My hope is it would be easier to deal with and less wear and tear on my truck. Have any of you guys had any experience with them? Here is a link to plow I am considering:

Ya, up here those are called personal plows. The wear and tear is a little less on your truck with those plows, because the plow or the plow brackets usually end up buckling before the pressure gets to the frame of your truck. Kindof like crumple zones. The brackets buckle before any real damage/stress to your truck. They usually only last the year or so for that reason. Still that price seems expensive for personal plows. Usually can be had up here for $1000-$1200 new. Still ******* the driveline though.

Haha, zombies... Ya in the winter, we don't have to worry much about pedestrians.. hahaha......

With no snow, you mean you've never had the pleasure/problem of dumping your sled into a tree? Right, if you ever come up north, you get the kitty kat before you get the 1000cc 4-cyl Yamaha! ok! :)
