I got my new NGK TR55IX in the mail today for my 2000 Escalade 5.7. Anyway I was searching online to see what the proper gap is and I see factory is .060 but some say these trucks respond better to .040".

What should I gap these things to?? If it matters im more concerned with mileage then power.

.060 for ours. .040 is for the 2000-1 next generation engines like 5.3l not the 5.7L L31. If they were platinum they should have been pre-gapped.

I glad I asked...... half the threads say 40 and half say .060"........
