so i was selling a 7" dvd nav hu and after several emails with a prospective buyer i met with him and made a deal, i was half asleep so i never noticed how shady things were till it was too late, right after we made the transaction, $400 for the stereo i left, he had passed me four 100 dollar bills in an envelope, and well after i started to drive i looked at the cash and what do you know conterfeit money, so im out 400 that the police now have and my hu, so im a believer in karma and i work in 2 prisons so im hoping our paths will cross and when they do i guaratee justice will served, now i put this post up not for sympathy or to show my stupidity but to serve as a warning to others and to maybe hear other stories of con jobs to make me feel better, lol.

Sucks, for payment in person I only take Post Office Mail orders, which you can exchange for cash at any Post Office or ATM.

Find him in person for some

That sucks dude I check the bills every time and usually keep my pistol on me. When I meet up with someone I bring ny dog and a buddy, you can't be too safe.

I'm really sorry to hear that. It will probably wind up in a pawn shop somewhere soon, so keep an eye on them.

My Rule is I take down the plate numbers when I take cash... But I won't take anything larger than $50s.
Did you know:
$100s are the second most counterfeited bill? $20s are actually the most counterfeited.

Most 20s I have seen though are laughable, while some 100s are made from genuine US Mint paper, pseudo color-shifting ink, security strips and security thread, and evne random serial numbers.

The colombians for example bleach and re-press $1 bills into $100s.

I just hope you get your stuff back, you still ahd the serial number etc jotted down, right?

ya i have the serial number, and they police finger printed me to elliminate my prints, like i said i was half asleep when i went, just so stupid, and ya these bills were good if you held up to the light you could see security features it was 2 out of 4 of the bills had the same number and 3 of the bills ended in the numbers 1986 which i think some ****** has maybe give a clue to their date of birth

That sucks dude I check the bills every time and usually keep my pistol on me. When I meet up with someone I bring ny dog and a buddy, you can't be too safe.

i wish we could carry here, that was my first fear though when i realised was what if they were packing something, cause i was going to turn and go after them, i did end up attempting to pursue the vehicle they were in and notified police but they lost the vehicle and i stopped chasing once the police got involved

Good man for noticing and not trying to pass them off. I bet you could have. I asked a SS agen't how many time in the past we all have likely used coutnerfeit money inadvertently and he said "Not likely"

I guess the modern percentages are low in everyday transactions....more likely in deals like this.
