I had just gotten my 2010 Yukon for about a month now. Didn't see auto start on the window sticker. Was planning on taking it in to get installed. I have the control that has the auto start button already, so figured hey why not. Followed the instruction in the back of the controller, and WHAM the car started :). Now I have an extra $250 or whatever the dealer was going to charge me to install one, to buy something else for the truck. So if any of you guys get the same controller for your truck, mind as well try it and you might be surprise like me.

It is a nice surprise! My little brother just got his HHR and didn't know it had remote start. After seeing the key fob I knew it did, since all of our vehicles have it. I love that feature.

Haha atleast you didn't get scammed possibly by a stealership.
If its GM, and it has the circular start button you have it! When the truck does not have it (like mine before) it will not have that button on the fob at all. Atleast thats how it was before I got mine, which came with two new fobs with the button.

Yeah, they wouldn't give you a key fob equipped for it if the truck wasn't. A lot of people don't know what the arrow means when they first get it though, that's understandable.

every GM vehicle that has the availabilty of remote-start as an option actually rolls of the factory floor with it already installed (just a couple of relays anyway).

it is simply an option to "turn it on" in the ECU and get a new fob. If you dealer quoted you 250, you should report them to GM. It is 50.00 bucks for the dealer to call GM, they give your VIN, then GM gives an activation code for your ECU (vin specific), they enter it with the Tech II programmer and whammo you have remote start. New fob is like 50 bucks, so 250 is pure robbery and deserves public humiliation of the dealership.

That's what I thought too, but when reading the manual it had the FOB in the diagram saying that with or without auto start. So I thought the button was there anyways so that when the dealer installed the auto start, all they would have to do was program the FOB. My truck did not have auto start on the window sticker at all, but on other window sticker it was priced around 250 was the reason I mentioned that price. Regardless, I have auto start and also a hitch installed that was not mentioned on the sticker.

True that. I am thinking of making the window glass button a control for an exhaust dump, so I can open the exhaust and start the 6.2l :)

That'll wake some people up
