Guessing this is a sway bar link??

Just noticed this today that the sway bar is not connected. Looking at the other side it appears to be a long bolt that goes all the way and holds the two pieces together. Anyone have any idea of what I need to do to fix this? And how mpbig an issue is it running without the thing linked together until I get it fixed?

I assume I just have to jack it up and pull unscrew the bolt or what's left of it. Get a new bolt and nut and tighten it back up? Does this sound like the way to do it.


Here is a quick photo maybe someone can help me out with a part number so I can get this fixed ASAP.

Should just beable to pull the bolt out the bottom and take it to the hard ware store and get a new one but an inch longer. You are also missing the bushings so you will need to figure out what to do about that. autozone or other parts stores will or should have bushings that you can make work.

Just go to the parts store and tell them you need front away bar end links for your vehicle.

Should just beable to pull the bolt out the bottom and take it to the hard ware store and get a new one but an inch longer. You are also missing the bushings so you will need to figure out what to do about that. autozone or other parts stores will or should have bushings that you can make work.

Easier said than done if you live in an area where salt is used.

I grew up out west (AZ and CA) and never dreaded working under a car until I bought my first east coast vehicle. Now I absolutely hate working on the underside and engine compartment of any vehicle.

I've had to cut off shock studs, end links, bolt heads, exhaust bolts, etc. No matter how much you soak them they just either round off or disintegrate under a wrench.

I tried to replace my end link bushings last weekend, bought the energy bushings from the parts store and can't remove the stock link without destroying it. I will end up cutting it off with a hacksaw. Already planning on taking the bushings back and have a complete set of Delco replacements on the way.

I nearly took a trip out west to find my current vehicle but I buckled and found a very well taken care of 07 at the right price (was shopping for 09-10). I spent the last two weekends underneath of her cleaning up rust on the frame and painting over it to protect it. I do love this 07 but I do wish I had made that trip out west for a rust free model.

See that's the thing I haven't tried anything yet but my guess is it's stuck. The nut on top is completely missing and the bolt is still tight. Unless there is something it threads into but if not it's stuck. I'll get a new link and hit it with the impact hopefully it breaks loose pretty easily. I really don't want to have to drill the damn thing out.

You'll either have to cut it out or get a BFH and whack it. Obviously, do all of this with that wheel off the ground and on jack stands
