I had remote started added to my brothers 09 silverado. I got the parts through my account at the dealer but have no dealings with the service department until today. They charged 2 hours labor for "installing" the factory remote start which is 2 new key fobs. They had to re-program the bcm and said they were on hold with gm along time and there tech 2 was giving them problems the reasoning for 2 hours labor.
I definitely dont agree with paying a $100/hr while a guys on hold and for him having problems with a tech 2. I dont think thats my fault but I still got charged. Then soon as I left the air bag light came on and I notice the radar detector wasnt working (outlet is dead fuse is good) so I have to go back tomorrow which is an hour one way.

When I had mine done it took about 30 minutes. I maybe wrong but my buddy who works at a dealer didn't use a tech 2. He used a laptop.

Tech 2's are pretty much being phased out, everything is laptop based now but you can still use a tech 2 on anything up to 2013 (I think thats the year).

Thats what I am guessing. They claimed they were on hold with gm for almost hour.

While computer glitches do happen - YOU do not get charged for it in terms of money. Your time yes, but not money. They should have had more sense than that.
