Have any of you had to re-wire the stereo wires?

By that I mean, the wires tucked in there are all messed up. I had a place install speakers and an amp a while back but when I got a new stereo a friend went in there and chopped stuff up, spliced here and there and just made a mess of things. Everything was ok until now. Moving the stereo around shuts it off and the speakers hiss and give out a bunch of static and distortion and sometimes one side goes out. I pulled it out tonight and it's a mess. Moving the wires around causes all sorts of noise. I'd like to cut it all out and put in a new harness. Is there a part number for what I need and is it as easy as just matching up the colors?

No there is no harness to buy to replace the damage he did.
If he cut out the oem plug you fracked!

You need someone with hours of time a soldering iron, a shit ton of shrink wrap and a plug cut from a junkyard vehicle.

This is why you never let some douche do work on your ride. You should have known better.

Good luck.

I have the plug. It's there. It's how the stereo is connected now. It's just that there were wires cut from it because when the shop installed the stereo they added some components that were no longer needed. So they were removed. I might just get more wire solder and heat shrink in and then connect it to the factory plug again so that I basically have a stock setup.

unknown at this time.
I spliced and soldered my newer radio harshness in then it just plugs into back of radio. everything was split loomed as well to prevent rubbing against the structures.

Um, yeah, the OEM harness was actually VERY easy to find. Got the male and female harnesses for $12. Thanks for your insight tho.
