Headlights not Bright

Anyone have any experience with CREE LED bulbs? Everyone on Amazon claims they can see alot more of the road with them installed, better than stock bulbs.

Just don't do it. The halogen housings were never made to project light from an LED source, so any improvement in brightness would be worse because you'd have worse spread, aim, and will be blinding other drivers.

It will be a waste of money for you! As all of the others on here have mentioned, the ONLY sure way of getting the best lighting for these vehicles is through a proper retrofit. I was uneducated and at first went with the typical "drop in HID kit" and it too was garbage. Usable light output was aweful and worst of all, I was blinding all oncoming traffic due to the fact that the beam scatters with the reflector housing. So anyone or any company that "claims" better output with drop in LED lights or HID lights with the factory housing is not being accurate.

I know that several people get sticker shock over the cost of a good retrofit setup, but with all of the money we pour into these vehicles for other modifications and or even just tires is not really that much different. I feel the same way as most with the concern that these "should" have come with better lights from the factory for the cost of these trucks, but we're all part of the same choir singing the same chorus...

One great thread to gather information on here is from @soulsea up at the top of this group. He has a pinned thread that has volumes of information and answers a lot of questions. Sorry for my little rant, and just my .02 worth. I hope this helps everyone.

Honestly, getting a pair from BFC is really not that expensive in context. I mean, think about it: replacing a true/proper HID light from something like an Escalade costs upwards of $2K per light. With the BFC retrofit, you're getting a full retrofit for about $1.3K. That's a steal considering what you get.

I don't disagree that the HID retrofit is the ultimate choice.

I went from a 2007 Silverado Classic to a 2007 Yukon and I am very disappointment in the Yukon headlights compared to my pickup.

My pickup had quad lights with all Phillips X-treme Power Bulbs with the relay to keep the lows on with the highs. I was very satisfied with this set up.

I added the Phillips X-treme Power H13 to the Yukon and it made a vast difference with low beam and slight improvement with high. Like everyone says proper adjustment is key. I don't want to add the high low relay as it would be too much heat for the single bulb.

So for $50. you could see if the Phillips will get you by.

Haha I've almost made a set for @Jonah52 but he scored a good BFC used deal. A couple other members have inquired. I'm not opposed to doing a set for someone just depends on what they want done.

Id love the quad set up but after looking at a bunch of threads, it looks like a project that'll take alot of fine tuning and work I'm just nervous to jump in and end up breaking or messing up.... So I may just do the low beam haha

Yeah same process for the hoe but need smaller projector such as the FX-R in 2.5" instead of 3" like mine. Makes it easier to fit in the stock bowls. Think @goodinblack did a mini set on his burb. While yes I would love a quad setup it takes twice as long to build. You have to set first ones then go back and set second ones plus wiring up both sets. I prefer a really good bi-xenon setup so you get great lows and highs.
