2003 tahoe LT, Leather and heated seats. and in the mornings when its like 34-48 degrees i turn them on and only get heat for about 5-10 seconds and then they cut off.

What could this be??? the car is parked out side and it gets down to about 35 right now

My aftermarket heated seat that I installed last month had a temp sensor, which trips if it gets too hot. My guess, if (1) yours has a temp sensor and (2) the fuse isnt blown, is that the temp sensor is bad and tripping the heater.

One of the heater mats is burned up and shorting out causing it to turn off. There are no sensors. The only way to tell which one has gone wrong is to take the seat apart and look for the burned section.

Where do you live? I'm in Alaska and it doesn't get that cold here yet. I'm going to guess high in the Rockies or something....
