My 04 has heated seats, although they are not working at this moment. The GM dealership says the resistance is too high. I believe the seats are tied together, so if I disconnect the bad seat would the other still work? Is this even an option. If it is where would I disconnect it? The labor cost to replace the elements in the seats is big $$$$. I think the total cost including parts is > $800.00. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had heated seats in my Duramax, granted I live in NC and really didn't use them much. My Hoe doesn't have them and I don't miss them. $800 is a bunch of green, I would do a much wanted mod instead.

you could get new seats for $800. See about buying the parts online and then ask how much to install them. Get the part number from the dealer, then check sites like gmpartsdirect.com

Apparently most of the money comes from labor. I will see what it costs for the elements. Could I disconnect one seat or the other just to eliminate one or the other. Where would I do this and would it affect the operation of the other electrical features of the seat. Heated seats early in the morning are so nice.
