The fan first dropped the fifth speed, then a lower and then it stopped completely.
I removed the resistor, it eas corroded so much that it causwd overheating and melted the connector. Had to break it to remove it.
I’m in Sweden and the resistors are a tad pricey, around $100, so I got a used from a scrap yard including the broken connector.
The ”new” used is also corroded. Is it sensible to paint it with laquer, or should I use grease or what?

I am wary of dipping electronic components into an electrolyte…
Maybe better to spray 5-56 (MoS2) and then grease.
How does it look when new? Is it galvanised?

A replacement genuine GM resistor/control module at Rock Auto (rockauto.com) is only $33 US. It should not cost much to ship this small part to you.
