Purchased 2000 Tahoe. LT. 5.3L.
Needed new ac compressor.
Replaced accumulator, compressor, orifice. Had system vacuumed and all of the good stuff. No leaks.
All of this was done by a local shop. Recharged. Ac blows cold in the front. Didn't replace back expansion valve...the listed repairs nearly broke the bank.
Also completed an electric fan conversion.
Tuned to account for the fans.
Paid, left the shop.
Today, taking the Tahoe to work for the first time. Turn on ac, hear a noise like Freon venting, clouds coming from around the accumulator/dryer. Compressor working. Fans not working.
Frozen hose leading to accumulator/dryer.
Ac still blows cold.
Setting:
HOT! Texas heat! Rained all night, high humidity.
WARNING! I AM A TOTAL NEWB. HAVE SPENT MORE MONEY ON THIS THAN I EVEN WANT TO ADMIT....I COULD BURN THIS MOTHER DOWN.
