I am a big hater of chrome and seeking some guidance. I own two 2019 Yukon's (for a short time before I list the SLT with all the denali parts on it) and will be doing a bunch of swapping from my SLT to the Denali in order to make it my own.

1) I want to exchange the SLT roof side rails that are black with the Chrome Denali ones. Anyone ever seen a write up on the difficulty of this? Do I have to get into the headliner or can I access everything by popping the front and rear caps on those rails? I can't find a video or write up and don't want to go exploring.

2) The Denali is black and has the chrome rear hatch cover about the handle. Same deal here, anyone have a link to a write up as to how I get that off? I need to have my SLT one color matched and exchange them.

Thank you 3000! Hopefully someone has opinions they can share.

For the roof rails.. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you do have to go through the headliner to remove them. I seen a post on here from a few years ago where the person removed the rails entirely on his 15+ to resemble the PPV Tahoe's and he mentioned having to remove the headliner during the process in order to remove the rails.

the older versions had a riv-nut from the top side, remove and caulk the hole or plug with a short, flat head bolt.

surely, these are not a hole completely through the roof ????

Update: I ended wrapping the roof rails in some gloss black vinyl I had late last night and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Much easier.

Onto the Denali rear hatch Chrome trim where the "GMC" emblem is. I realized this morning my SLT does not have a "cover" in that section of the hatch, it's just the molding of the door itself whereas the Denali actually has a chrome piece applied to the surface of the hatch. Does anyone have experience removing this piece? I want to assess if it's painted behind it or there are going to be holes which will require me to powercoat this chrome OEM piece.
