I am having problems with the drivers side window! i press the button to roll the window down and it goes all the way down i can't stop it. then i can't roll it back up. I have to disconnect power to it somehow either fuse, battery or unplug the power window/lock/mirror unit. not sure what is wrong. the unit that controls all the other windows, locks, mirror works fine with everything else. so I'm not sure if this is the problem or if my window regulator or motor are the problem. the window goes up and down fine when it works.

I'd almost guess that someone might have spilled something on the switch assembly and maybe your button is getting stuck when you use it!

Its the master control, the up function is working sometimes and if you put a test light on the terminal when it acts up you can see if thats the issue. To stop the auto roll down you have to hit the up position..thats my guess.

no trying to stop it from going down by hitting the up button does not work. i hit the down button and it goes all the way no matter what i do. in order to get it to go up i have to cut all power off from the switch either by unplugging the switch or pulling the fuse or pulling the cable off the battery after i do that it automatically goes back up without me touching anything.

Then a possibility is the ground for the master switch...

everything else works so it can't be the ground. it only happens to drivers side door window everything else works perfect. i was hoping for a cheap fix but it doesn't look like it the damn master control for the windows is about $150. looks like when i roll my window down I'm going to have to pull the fuse to roll it up for a while. i wish there would be some some damn tahoes in the junk yards!! i have yet to see a 2nd ten Tahoe in the junkyard. if anyone has one that would fit a 2005 Tahoe for a cheap price let me know!!!

Make sure that both of your harness plugs that plug into the window switch are clean and making a good connection, alot of circuits piggy back through there and one wire not making contact can screw a few things up to where they don't work right!

Also, how long have you been dealing with this problem and has it ever worked correctly in the past?

I have unplugged it and plugged them back in a few times everything looks great. I believe there are a total of 5 plugs that plug into that control. my window was working great sunday night. i took my kid to school monday morning went to roll down my window and it went straight down. still doing it today. I have had absolutely no electrical problems and i bought it brand new in '05 with 7 miles on it.
