I have a 2000 Tahoe Limited sittin' on 22's. Right now I have a 2/2 drop with Belltech 2" Coil Springs/Belltech Street Performance Series Shocks in front & Belltech Leaf Springs in the back with the same shocks. I got this installed in 2005. Since then I've only upgraded the shocks from Nitro Drop Shock 2 to what I have now.

I'm really hating my ride right now cause it's really rough! Any transition or pot hole I hit & it feels like shit! I'm looking for a quality ride of course with the looks still & I thought this would be a good place to ask for "HELP"! I'm basically interested in going lower & as of now I have 22" rims ridin' on 285/45/22. I'm lookin' to upgrade my rims also to BOSS 330's (Black w/Chrome Lip) size 22" or 24". I was leaning towards a 3/5 or 4/6 drop, but I don't know SHIT about lowering so I'm not sure if that would work or what parts to get. What would be a good drop for my ride?! Any feedback on both rim sizes would be appreciated! Thanks for the input in advance!

Bigger wheels = rougher ride... all things being equal. As far as a static drop with a wider wheel/tire combo, you have to be careful or you'll tear up the fenders/sidewalls on bumps. Your current drop and wheel/tire combo looks good.

As far as clearance is concerned, I'm not sure I'd go much if any lower. If you decrease your overall diameter, then you'd be able to increase your drop without worrying about turning and/or fender issues. I approach things from a functional standpoint ("tow" and "go") more than a show standpoint.

As far as shocks, I've been very happy with the Edelbrock AIS Performer shocks.

FYI... the Limiteds came factory with a bit of a drop to them compared to the standard 2wd Tahoe (1-2" lower than standard height). With your current tire/wheel diameter, you might be able to get another inch or two without causing any headaches/damage.

Have not done a drop myself but have heard of people using valve adjustable shocks or just removing them altogether.

:welcome:

I don't know a lot about drops my man, but from what I'm understanding from your post doesn't sound like a good idea! You said removing your shocks?! That sounds like a pretty ****** ride to me! I apologize if I understood your post wrong. Thanks for the input anyway.

I think I'm gonna go with a 2/3 or 2/4 drop with 24's. I'm just getting a little more input from guys that did it already & then I'll make my final decision. Thanks for all your input TigerEyz3 it's much appreciated! :Handshake:

unknown at this time.
I just heard of people removing shocks as one option to loosen a stiff dropped suspension thats all. Probably is a bad idea anyway. Sure drops are good for people that want them. Not my thing personally.
