Help with installing new liftgate upper weatherstrip

Hi! New Yukon owner, mine came from Nevada and, while no rust, I've been having to replace seals that have been dried out from the hot sun there. I noticed there was no upper liftgate seal so I ordered one, but I cannot figure out what part of the truck the adhesive is supposed to attach to, or how it goes on. Does it attach to the roof or the top of the lifgate? Any pics or tips are much appreciated!

Anyone? Even a couple pics of your liftgate seal would be helpful, since mine is missing and I have no reference...

This is my 2008. Pardon the Utah dust. Seems to be attached with double-sided adhesive tape on the ledge above the primary door weatherstripping.
